I hope it was a happy Thanksgiving for all yesterday! Mine was a nice little break from the daily grind. We drank (Merlot and seasonal brews), we ate (delicious appetizers made by my sister’s boyfriend including Rosemary roasted nuts and homemade hummus followed by all the traditional Thanksgiving fixins’), and we hung by the fire while trying to come up with decent holiday pictures (totally didn’t happen). We just stayed at my house for the day so I definitely wasn’t about to break out the LBD and heels, but still wanted to be a step up from pajamas. Here is the live version of the Polyvore set I created in the previous post.
Sidenote: Got this jacket on sale at Target for right under $18 the other day, I thought it was a pretty good investment with the Holiday season here now. It’s a little hard to tell in the picture but the pockets and the zipper detail going down the front is pleather and there are gold buttons on the wrist, makes it look a lot more expensive than it was. FYI – I got an XS and it’s still pretty roomy if you wanted to wear a comfy sweater underneath.
Currently streaming A Very She & Him Christmas album while sipping on hot cocoa, wrapped up in a cozy blanket all in honor of our first snowfall! I’m going to be honest with you here, I actually didn’t go outside at all today. I admired from afar.. while warmly inside planning my Thanksgiving outfit around my favorite new flyaway sweater I purchased this week. I took to Pinterest per usual to get some Holiday juices flowing and it’s got me all giddy for the start of the Holiday season! I’m pretty excited for Thanksgiving this year as it’s going to be the first in awhile (more appropriately – ever) that all three of my siblings will be together, both parents, and newly added significant others + their kids! Let me tell you, it is going to be one packed house. Can’t wait!
Here is the Polyvore I put together of my outfit for the day. The cardigan I bought is from Kohl’s and is super long and comfy, ideal for endless meals throughout the deal after which I will then pass out and utilize as a blanket. The only thing I didn’t include in the set is a top, because that’s still undecided. I loved the rich plum color of Kim K.’s lipstick, so I’ll probably use my NYX Lipstick in the perfect dark raspberry shade to top of the look.
Sweet little work outfit from the other day. I thought long and hard about tucking the shirt into the skirt, but then realized about how many times throughout the day I’d be consumed with tucking and re-tucking (perhaps I was just feeling a little
tired..lazy), so I figured I’d try something new and adventurous by leaving it out!
On an unrelated note, I can’t decide on this jacket or not. Si o no?
I do like it and all, but a part of me is holding out for the perfect cream or blush colored faux leather jacket so I can’t quite commit.
I love Pinterest. I always wished there was something like Pinterest that existed, and then finally one day it did and I was all – about dang time. I especially love it for it’s categorization…Not sure if that is a legit word, but you understand, no? Autumn is my favorite season and I get so giddy for it each year that having one place to put all my inspirations is the best way for me to quickly reference any styles, beauty trends, recipes, and activities that make Autumn for what it is. I created an Autumn Inspiration board not too long ago and I get excited looking at it every time I log on! Is that nerdy? Nerdy for fashion, that is. Here are a few of my favorite looks I’ve found to compliment my board perfectly.

Something about this season man, mmm.

Nothin’ like a few hump day treats to brighten up your day!
My sister let me use her sample size of Benefits “They’re Real” mascara because she wasn’t impressed (nonsense) . But I looooove it, so I swang into Ulta and got the full size.
Also scored this beautiful 2014 planner at TJmaxx for all of $5.00. The gold lettering and the grey polka dots on the inside were deal breakers with me. Sidenote: Can we all just take a moment and let it sink in that the year 2014 is TWO MONTHS AWAY. What.
